Steam Tales is a pixel art action RPG set in a post-apocalyptic steampunk future. A city cut-off from for hundreds of years from the rest of the world after an apocalyptic event has survived, with its inhabitants managing to create a self-sustaining economy and society, although with its own struggles and issues. A key element in the city’s survival has been played by crystals – magic remnants of ancient gods that used to rule the world – now used for powering machines and other purposes, depending on the crystal’s type.
The partly procedurally generated in-game world is heavily inspired by the medieval city of Kraków, great attention has been paid to create a realistic in-game world in terms of economic sustainability and functioning society. The game will feature a campaign based on a complex screenplay and features numerous moral choices, as well as a multiplayer sandbox gameplay, allowing players to interact with each other and embark together on exciting adventures in this post-apocalyptic steampunk world.
