Starholder is a voxel art dungeon crawler set on a mysterious island, cut off from the world by a storm that never ends. The islanders survive by descending into the vast chasm at the island’s heart, hunting for the treasures the depths hold. But the chasm takes its toll: the deeper you go, the stronger the curse that pulls you down, and every step back to the surface is harder than the last. Some never return.
The island is steeped in Slavic myth – its creatures, its rituals, its fears – woven into a fantasy world where humans share the land with beings older than memory, elves and dwarves among them.
No two descents are the same. The story unfolds differently depending on the paths you take, and your choices carry real weight: they shape how the island treats you and which of its many endings you’ll earn.
At its core, Starholder is a dungeon crawler for fans of classic hack’n’slash and action RPGs – built on mechanics those genres rarely dare to touch. The curse is one of them: every run is a bet on how deep you dare to go, and how much you’re willing to risk to climb back out.
